Slack is among the most used business communication platforms which allows users to easily communicate with their colleagues. Users can also organize their conversations according to projects, topics, and more.

Slack users can even integrate apps and services like Salesforce, Twitter, Google Drive, and more into their workflow. Apart from that, it can also be used to call and message any colleague or group.

Slack is a pretty handy tool which is available across numerous platforms including iOS and Android. However, Apple users have been facing an issue with Slack after the iOS 15 update.

As per multiple reports, Slack users are facing a bug where their custom notification sound for the app resets to default after the iOS 15 update. This is preventing Slack users from changing the app notification sound.

Basically, the notification sound for the Slack app changes to the default tri-tone sound on iOS 15. This is further causing a lot of confusion for users as tri-tone is also the default sound for many iOS notifications.

@SlackHQ Hi guys. Question: I recently updated my iPhone to iOS 15. Since then, I’ve been unsuccessful in changing my notification sounds.

I’ve done this: “You”➡️”Notifications”➡️”Sound”➡️”Plink”, but notifications still revert back to default sound.

Any tips??

I’m having the same problem, I found this thread looking for a solution haha.

Slack will not play the chosen Slack sound, only plays default iPhone notification sound. Just started happening today, maybe because of an update. Halp us @SlackHQ!

Workarounds like reinstalling the Slack app are also not helping users which further indicates that there is currently no way to bypass this bug. All this is further adding to users dilemma.

The issue is clearly widespread but affected users may not have to contend with it for too long. This is because Slack support has acknowledged the issue with the app notification sound on iOS 15.

It seems Slack developers are aware of this problem and are working to fix it as soon as possible. Thus affected iPhone users can expect it to be fixed in the next Slack update.

However, this is still based on speculation as Slack support has not provided any ETA for a fix and it is unclear how long it will take to address the problem with the notification sound.

Users can still take comfort in knowing that the issue is being handled and a future update might indeed resolve it.

Hopefully, Slack fixes the aforementioned issue soon so that users can set custom notification sound for the app on their iOS 15 running device without any hassle.
