New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 28, 2021) follows:

Google Podcasts is a widely used free podcast service that is supported on various platforms such as iOS, Android, and desktop. You can browse podcasts from different categories and listen to the one you are interested in.

However, this service is currently facing some issues when users try to reach their desired content. As per the reports, several users are getting missing subscriptions and ‘content not available’ error while using Google Podcasts.

The service is suddenly showing an error message saying that it can’t play some content due to age restriction. This is despite those affected having attained the age of 18 and above. The same content was, however, working fine before.

Some of those who have lost their subscriptions on Google Podcasts say they come back sometimes but fail to display most of the time.

Absolutely devastated at the new update to Google Podcasts. Deleted my queue and the changes don’t seem worth it. Ugly and unintuitive. Shame.

Reports are still flooding in, however, the company has not yet acknowledged the issue so we still don’t know what’s actually causing the issue.

Additionally, there is another issue, several Google Podcasts users are unable to unsubscribe from the Slate News Podcast. For some reason, the service automatically subscribes users even after they unsubscribed.

Workarounds, like re-installing the app, rebooting the device, and even logging out and back in, don’t seem to be fixing these annoying issues.

The culprit could also be the recently released update for the Google Podcasts app but nothing can be confirmed as of now, at least until the company itself acknowledges it.

We hope Google soon acknowledges these bugs and comes with a solution.
