People like to use Spotify across different platforms like desktop, mobile, and web as per their requirements. While the Spotify desktop and mobile apps are indeed popular, the web client is also used by many.

However, Spotify users have been facing an issue with the desktop and mobile apps lately where the home page does not refresh and shows same playlists even when new content is played.

There are multiple reports regarding this problem and it seems that this is not exactly a new issue. Users have been reporting about this problem at least since May 2021.

Also, reports where the home page is stuck with same playlists or content are still pooling in which further indicates that Spotify has still not been able to resolve the issue.

It is unclear what the exact cause of the problem is but it is possible that it might be related to the listening history. Thus, it is further affecting the home screen shortcuts and even the Recently Played section.

Good evening,

At the home page, where the Good morning/Good afternoon/Good evening thing is, it shows unrefreshed content since a couple of months or so. For that matter it still shows unfollowed podcasts and deleted playlists.

I’ve tried to uninstall the program and install it back, but no result has came up.

I’d love if someone could help me, it is such a great tool for me.

Thank you!!!

Reports even outline that the home page only updates when Spotify is used via the web client which further suggests that the issue might be specific to the desktop and mobile apps.

However, this is still based on speculation as Spotify has not provided much clarity on the matter. Moreover, there is currently no workaround to fix this problem.

Users have even tried clearing app cache and data, logging in and out across multiple devices, granting the required permissions, clean reinstall of Spotify, and more to no avail.

However, affected Spotify users may not have to dwell with this issue as it has been acknowledged by a Spotify Community Moderator.

Spotify developers are aware of the issue where the home page does not update and shows same playlists or content and they are working on a fix for the same.

However, it is unclear how long it will take to fix the issue as no ETA has been provided by the Spotify Community Moderator.
