New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 22, 2021) follows:

Google is one of the largest companies that has completely revolutionized how we browse the internet in the last few decades.

Since it is the most popular web search engine in the world, people try to optimize content according to Google’s recommendations.

The Google Search Console is one of the tools that allows you to view your website’s search traffic, review its performance and fix issues.

The Search Console also notifies users when Google finds an issue with your website and provides several other tools that will help you rank up on Google.

It also lets users generate performance reports that let you see how your websites are doing and updates them on a frequent basis.

Having said that, Google Search Console users are reporting that they are facing an unusual delay when generating a performance report.

I know search console was ‘stuck’ and not updating for everyone. Today morning, I checked Google search console to check my website crawling & indexing status. Now I’m seeing a 500 error for last 30 mins or so. Rare to see a 5xx error in Google Search Console. May I know why this happed? When team will fix this issue?

Is Google search console down for you guys? What I See: 500. That’s an error. There was an error. Please try again later. That’s all we know. Do you guys get this as well? I really hope its not just me.

Some users said that they were getting Error 500 when they tried to check their website using Search Console. The issue seems to be widespread with many claiming that their website was not updated for days, which is quite unusual.

Fortunately, Google has acknowledged the issue with the Search Console performance report and said they are working on a fix. However, they did not share any ETA.

Google says that the issue only affects reporting and has no effect whatsoever on ranking, crawling, or indexing. This is good to know since people spend months trying to rank their website on Google Search.

In the meantime, Google has come up with a workaround that lets you access Search Console reports by visiting the Index Coverage Report and choosing a website from the list.

The company also said that all tools except the Overview and Performance Report will be available till the issue is fixed.

We hope Google fixes the Search Console performance report issue as soon as possible. When they do, we will update this article so make sure to check this space for updates.
