While many are excited to check out the latest features iOS 15 has to offer, it looks like some are angry over Apple messing up some existing ones.

With users already complaining about the bottom Safari search bar and Live Text not being enabled by default for some, it looks like iOS 15 has a long way to go before Apple fanboys get used to the update.

Although the overall rollout seems pretty stable with no serious issues popping up until now, it looks like Apple decided to remove some useful notification management functionalities.

Many are now reporting that iOS 15 removed the ability to get notifications when DND is on and the phone is unlocked. Users say they are not getting any notifications at all.

Up until iOS 14, users received notifications if their phone was unlocked and on DND, which was quite useful for those who wanted to be able to see notifications when using their phone.

While you can still manually allow apps to show notifications even when in DND, it defeats the whole purpose since the notification will come through normally.

Really surprised they’ve done this, but it appears there is no longer an option in iOS 15 to still show notifications when in Do Not Disturb but unlocked. My phone basically lived on Do Not Disturb mode up until now but I’ll have to stop using it now which is really annoying. Like, I don’t want notifications when my phone is locked, but while I’m actively using it I still need them to pop up. How could they remove this?

Why is my phone showing me notifications on my lockscreen, while my phone is off, when it’s on DND (Focus Mode)? When I not allow notifications on some apps then the phone will not go on while it’s off but then I will not get any notification banners on my homescreen. Is this a bug, or a step back with DND?

Users are confused and wondering why Apple made these changes to the DND mode. Apart from the DND issue, those who upgraded to iOS 15 are also experiencing issues clearing notifications.

According to reports, iOS 15 users are unable to clear notifications since the X in the upper right corner of the notification tray is missing. The only way to clear it is to swipe away.

While you can minimize the notification, it will still appear when you pull down the notification shade. This is really frustrating for many since it takes away the ability to clear many notifications at once.

So it’s kinda small I guess but really annoying. I can’t close/clear notification banners. There used to be a little x when you would expand the notification to clear it. This just isn’t an option anymore. You can minimize the notification, but it still appears when you pull down the notifications page. I just want to be able to clear my notification banners!

We hope Apple fixes the iOS 15 DND mode and the banner notifications issue in a future update. When they do, we will update this space so make sure you stay tuned.
