[Update: Issues resolved] TPG Telecom internet down or not working for multiple users

Just in case you’re trying to get your head around why the TPG Telecom internet service isn’t working for you, find solace in the fact that you aren’t the only one facing issues with it lately.
A quick look at the micro-blogging site Twitter conveys that many are affected by the same issue. As per reports, while some say the service isn’t working or broken for them, others are getting the Error 502 (Bad gateway).
For a quick glance, here’s how some of the complainants word the problem:
@TPG_Telecom no nbn in postcode 3197 – no phone support available, outage page down. WTF TPG?!

Down detector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also conveys that TPG Telecom internet service is indeed going through a glitch in several regions of Australia.

Being the second-largest telecommunications service provider in Australia, TPG Telecom caters to millions of users. However, this outage seems to have left them stranded and there are even no workarounds which are further complicating matters.
Any official word on the matter? Negative, as yet. We’re yet to locate a word from the official service channels or their social media handles.

Update 1 (September 15)
IST 06:55 pm: According to a recent report from Twitter, TPG support has acknowledged that an issue is causing errors or timeouts while browsing and their engineers are working on restoring the services as soon as possible.
We’re aware of an issue that may be causing timeouts or errors when attempting to browse. Engineers are currently investigating the cause and working to restore services asap. -Jhoey
