Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla is the latest entrant in the beloved Assassin’s Creed franchise. Set in Norway and England, the game follows the story of Eivor the Wolfkissed of the Raven Clan.

It is the twelfth installment in the series and is built on Ubisoft’s state-of-the-art Anvil engine. Released in November of 2020, the game has been praised for its graphics, storyline, and gameplay mechanics by reviewers and players alike.

Having said that, the game is regularly updated with new content in the form of quests and activities. Naturally, some bugs where the Ostara items or rewards disappeared and the interaction key was not working have affected players in the last few months.

Having said that, it looks like a new bug is making players go bonkers. According to reports, players are getting a “New Quest” alert whenever they try to loot things such as vases, bags, and barrels.

And the pop-up is not limited to looting. It looks like the “New Quest” alert also appears when interacting with objects or collecting items such as keys and maps.

This is really frustrating since the pop-up alert is accompanied by a sound every time the character interacts with the world. You can see it in the video below:

Anytime I open/unlock/loot any sort of chest in Ireland, it tells me I’m starting a new quest. Then, it will say multiple quests accepted if I do several chests in a row. Is there anyway I can fix that? Edit: It’s also doing it when I pick up rations in the wild.

Anyone else experiencing constant avenge quest pop ups? Every time I come across a fellow dead Viking I get the constant quest pop up saying to avenge them. Not only that but the “multiple quests accepted” keeps popping up with it. This bug only started after the recent update.

Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla players say that the new issue popped up after the latest TU 1.3.1 patch with the “New Quest ” alert popping up whenever there is an avenge quest nearby.

While the glitch does not break any functionality, it is really annoying, especially if you are trying to complete a mission. Fortunately, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla developers have acknowledged the “New Quest” popping up issue and said it is currently under investigation.

Although playing offline is one of the best solutions to the problem, it is not practical since you will not be able to access certain features such as the in-game store. Meanwhile Ubisoft finds out the root cause of the issue, you can try the workaround shared below.

If you want to disable the annoying “New Quest” pop-ups, just head over to game options, navigate to the Interface tab and turn off Celebrations. This should put the constant notifications to rest.

We will update this space when we get an update from Ubisoft so make sure you keep an eye out.
