New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 27, 2021) follows:

Codemasters’ F1 2021 went out for Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on July 16. And ever since, the strategic racing game fans have been in awe of its graphics.

With each year, Codemasters sets a new standard of photorealism, making it harder and harder for beholders to differentiate between in-game footage and an actual Formula 1 clip.

However, just around 10 days since release, players are already running into some critical server issues that prevent them from playing the multiplayer mode entirely.

Yo @Formula1game, @EA, @EASPORTS is anyone awake over there? Any plans to mildly acknowledge that the F1 2021 game servers have continued to be down for most of the day long after you said maintenance completed 13 hours ago.

I’m getting error code on PS5 f1 ‘error 2631071469:s’. Any solutions?
Source

Yep, upon trying any of the multiplayer options, the game throws an ‘Online services error’ with the error code: 2631071469:S. Singleplayer reportedly fares just fine though so facers of the issue will have to stick to it for now.

It is worth mentioning here that F1 2020’s online services were in fact taken down for maintenance around 15 hours ago. But the services were restored within a couple of hours.

Or were they? There have been a few complaints from F1 2020 players still plagued by server issues. It seems that there is some kind of unscheduled server outage affecting both F1 2020 and F1 2021, still unacknowledged by Codemasters or EA.

Coming to affected platforms, it seems that the server error is not discriminating between platforms as the F1 2021 outage has hit all – Xbox, PlayStation, and PC.

And it’s not just the F1 2021 and F1 2020 games that have been affected by the server error as there have also been a few scattered reports of downtime on Dirt as well.

This is the problem with online-only “live service” games. Go to start up DiRT Rally 2.0 only to find the server doesn’t let me connect.

And what do all of the games have in common? Well, they have been developed by Codemasters and published by EA.

By this, it could be possible that there is a minor outage affecting multiple Codemasters games. But with the lack of an official acknowledgment, details regarding it are still fuzzy.

Nevertheless, we will continue to keep an eye on the matter and will update this article when there’s any new development so stay tuned.
