Google Contacts has got to be one of the most under-celebrated Google apps. This, because it works so well behind the scenes that we don’t even pay much attention to it.

Ideally, anyone with an Android device is required to have a Google account. As a result, they already have a Google Contacts account that saves users’ contacts and syncs them to the cloud. This essentially means you never lose a single contact.

Google Contacts also offers users a few tools to help them keep their contacts organized properly. These include tools to merge duplicate contacts, bulk-delete them, and so on.

However, some of these features have been exclusive to Google Contacts’ web version. One such feature is the ability to restore deleted contacts. Well, not anymore.

Google is pushing out an update to the Contacts app that now includes a new bin feature, a feature that can be used to recover contacts deleted in the last 30 days.

New Bin feature lets you find and recover contacts deleted in the last 30 days. Only contacts syncing with Google Contacts will appear in your Bin.

This new change will come as a breath of fresh air to millions of Android users across the globe. This, especially bearing in mind that many OEMs are now opting to go with Google’s stock apps instead of their own, in-house alternatives.

To get this new option to recover deleted contacts, Google Contacts users only need to head on to the Google Play Store and update their apps to the latest versions.

What are your thought on the inclusion of this feature? How often do you go to your Contacts app to do some housekeeping? Tell us in the comments section below.
