Rust is a competitive online multiplayer survival game that was first released as a PC exclusive way back in 2013.

Recently, or May 21 to be precise, it also made it to the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One (and PS5 and Xbox Series X/S via backward compatibility).

While Rust Console Edition is an obvious port of the PC version, it has been optimized for a completely unique console gameplay experience.

However, it hasn’t exactly been free from issues and the latest one is bad enough to be a deal-breaker.

Invisible players—So this invisible glitch needs to go only a floating shotgun came at me from RustConsole

Went to some to try and find a hazmat suit, walked up the pipes and got speared by an invisible player, he swung before so I heard him, looked around, and got smacked with a spear.

@playrustconsole fix your damn game! The fact that people are still going invisible is ridiculous. How do you expect people to shoot enemies they can’t even see?

As clear from the above complaints, Rust Console Edition suffers from a glitch that causes other players to be completely invisible, all with the exception of their equipped weapon.

Oddly, some players also report that when this invisible player glitch occurs, scoping into the enemy is the only way to see them.

For a survival game with one of the most punishing environments plagued with bloodthirsty wild animals and radiation, this bug sure does add to the despair.

And as if the invisible players glitch isn’t much of a bother already, there is also another similar one where walls go invisible when firing rockets.

If you are one of the players facing such issues, then you will be relieved to know that they won’t be sticking around for much longer.

Rust Console Edition yesterday on Twitter acknowledged both the invisible players and the invisible walls when shooting rockets issue saying that they will be fixed soon.

Hence, the only thing left to do now is waiting for the promised bug fixing update to finally roll out. In the meantime, be sure to keep an eye on our dedicated Gaming section.
