Rainbow Six Siege, also known as R6, is one of the most played online tactical shooting games. Launched in 2015 and developed by Ubisoft, R6 is still popular amongst gamers worldwide due to its complex and fast-paced gameplay.

While the game is regularly updated with new features and bug-fixes, these updates also unintentionally introduce other bugs and issues.

Even though most of them are fairly harmless, the latest Rainbow Six Siege barricade glitch completely ruins the game’s competitive aspect.

If you are unfamiliar with what a barricade is in Rainbow Six Siege, it is a piece of equipment used by the defender. They can deploy barricades on doors and windows to block the view.

Having said that, they are quite fragile and can be destroyed or damaged with weapons and melee attacks. You can also create large holes in them using shotguns.

The defenders can shoot and break a part of the barricade, which is normal in every game.

But the new barricade bug lets the defenders destroy the barricade from their end whereas for the attacker the barricade is still undamaged. Keep in mind that the bug can only be triggered by playing characters with the secondary weapon as a shotgun.

Anyone else on Console noticed that Castle has been shooting people through barricades even though there’s been no visible damage to the barricades? Is there anyway to counter this?

The attackers have no way of knowing if the window they are looking at is really barricaded or not since the defender might have used one and destroyed it later.

This is really frustrating for both professional and casual players since they have no way of knowing if someone is camping near a barricaded window.

Fortunately, Ubisoft has acknowledged the issue and said that it is currently under review.

The team, however, did not provide any ETA for a fix. Hence, it could take weeks for the glitch to be patched.
