iOS 15/iPadOS 15 update: Top 5 features users want to see in a future release, as per a recent survey

Apple is currently testing the next iteration of iOS and iPadOS. Aptly named iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, the updates, as expected, are targets for iPhones and iPads, respectively.

Like every other year, not every existing iPhone and iPad will bag the update to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 when the stable version starts rolling out later this year.

In fact, not everyone who gets the update will enjoy the full-fledge versions of the operating systems. Due to hardware limitations, some iOS 15/iPadOS 15 features won’t come to some iPhone/iPad models.

Whether this limited feature set on older iPhone and iPad models is at the heart of the results being witnessed by SellCell following a recent survey remains a mystery to us. But nothing can be ruled out.

As per the survey, most iPhone and iPad users aren’t so excited about the upgrade to iOS 15 and iPadOS 15 respectively.

This isn’t the only aspect the SellCell survey set out to find from Apple users. The survey also asked about the missing features in iOS/iPadOS 15 update that Apple should have included.

In response, most iPhone and iPad users pointed to the addition of interactive widgets as their most desired feature that Apple failed to include in iOS/iPadOS 15.

Of course, none of them would mind if Apple added the interactive widgets in a future iOS/iPadOS 15 build. Second in line is AOD support for time and notifications.

With the iPad now having picked an M1 variant that is as powerful as the M1 Macs, owners are now calling for Apple to bring support for Pro Tools like Xcode, Final Cut Pro, etc.

Better external display support for iPad and support for multiple user accounts are the other most requested features to make up the top 5, but there’s more.

– Addition of interactive widgets – 32.3%
– Always-on display for time and notifications – 21%
– Pro Tools (Xcode, Final Cut Pro, etc.) on iPad – 14.9%
– Better external display support for iPad – 13.2%
– Support for multiple user accounts – 8%
– Split-screen multitasking capabilities on iPhone – 5.4%
– App lock feature using Face ID/passcode – 3.1%
– Other – 2.1%

This survey may not have significant influence over the availability of these features in future iOS/iPadOS updates. But it gives us a glimpse of what users want to see added to future iOS 15/iPadOS 15 updates.

Are you in agreement with the results of this survey regarding the top 5 features you’d like to see in iOS 15 and iPadOS 15, even if it’s in a future update?
