[Updated] Cash App crashing or randomly closing issue troubles Android users

With the increasing surge in trading in both Cryptocurrencies and Stocks, exchanges today have become more popular than ever.

Cash app is one such app that allows users to send, spend, save, and invest their money in a convenient and safe environment.

The app offers its services in both U.S. and UK and enjoys a big user base of 36 million active users.

These app users, however, have ended up with a broken app on their devices recently. The app crashes and closes when certain features are accessed.

From the increasing user reports across multiple platforms, it appears that there are mixed reports on what triggers the crashing and is only limited to the Android users.

Some users blame it on the activity tab, others say it crashes when clicked on the bitcoin symbol or the stocks page.

There’s certainly not a single thing that is triggering this issue but the entire app has gone haywire.

When it goes wrong, the first thing that pops up in mind is to restart or reinstall the app but even that hasn’t helped. This means the app needs more of the developer’s attention than just troubleshooting steps.

But when enquired about the issue from the support, they don’t seem to be aware of a widespread issue and ask affected users whether they have a stable internet connection or not.

Support goes on to suggest users use the most recent version of the app but that doesn’t help either.

Well, there’s also an official status page but that doesn’t mention this crashing as the team is yet to learn about the issue.

A user, however, claims that installing the beta version of the app helped him get rid of the crashing issue and the app works fine like before.

The company developers need to immediately bring their attention to this ongoing breakdown of the app.

That said, we will keep tracking the issue and update here as and when a solution or workaround is available.

Cash app is down and not working for many as of writing this. Apart from reports populating at Twitter, Down detector also conveys the same.

The official Cash app status page confirms the ongoing ‘General connection issues’. Here’s what the page states:

08:25 am (IST): Reports on Twitter and Downdetector currently indicate that Cash app is down and not working for many users. Luckily, the company’s support team acknowledged the problem and confirmed that they are working on a fix.

09:00 am (IST): Cash app users appear to be facing issues with the service as payments aren’t going through according to tweets (1, 2) from some users as well as reports on Downdetector.

07:48 pm (IST): According to reports on Downdetector, the recent outage with Cash app has now been resolved.

08:20 am (IST): Multiple reports indicate that Cash App is currently down or not working (1, 2, 3).

01:00 pm (IST): The lack of new outage-related reports in a few hours suggests that the service is already working properly again.

10:50 am (IST): Cash App is currently in the middle of an outage where users are unable to access their accounts (1, 2, 3).

03:30 pm (IST): The latest report outage has been fixed, so the service is now available again.

08:22 am (IST): Cash App users are unable to use the service due to a new outage on the platform (1, 2).

01:00 pm (IST): Cash App platform is now working properly again.

05:17 pm (IST): Some CashApp users have been experiencing issues while trying to use the app in the last few minutes (1, 2).

10:00 am (IST): CashApp services are already working correctly as the issues were resolved.
