Just in case you’re trying to get your head around why Twitch isn’t working for you, find solace in the fact that you aren’t the only one facing issues lately.

A quick look at micro-blogging site Twitter reveals that there are many other affected by the same issue. As per reports, while some say the service isn’t working or broken for them, others say it throws an error 503.

For a quick glance, here’s how some of the complainants word the problem:

Downdetector – a popular service that gives information about live outages – also conveys that Twitch is indeed going through a glitch in regions like the US and quite possibly across the globe as can be seen in the image below.

Any official word on the matter? Nope, nothing as of now. We’re yet to locate a word from the official service channels or their social media handles.

Update 1 (June 08)

03:59 pm (IST): Turns out that the outage is due to downtime in the Fastly CDN. Numerous popular websites like Reddit, Spotify, Twitch, GitHub, Stack Overflow, Hulu, Vimeo, HBO Max, Quora, PayPal, gov.uk, Shopify are facing an outage.

Several news outlets like BBC, CNN, the Guardian, the New York Times, and Financial Times are also currently down.

The Fastly Service Status site indicated as of now that the service is still down but investigation is underway:

04:23 pm (IST): Fastly CDN has now indicated on their status page that the cause behind Global CDN disruption has been identified and that they’re working on a fix:

Identified – The issue has been identified and a fix is being implemented.
