Discontinuation Notice: This tracker will no longer receive updates.

NOTICE: We’ve compiled a comprehensive Android 11 update tracker for all the major OEMs and carriers, and will be updating it continuously.

Original story (published on September 13, 2020) follows:

It’s been over a year since Huawei got caught in the middle of the ongoing trade war between the U.S. and China resulting in Google cutting ties with the company to comply with President Trump’s Huawei ban.

The company’s sub-brand Honor has also been affected by the ban which is why Huawei did not or rather could not participate in this year’s Android 11 developer preview program. Furthermore, it is no longer focusing only on Android since the Chinese behemoth is cooking up its own OS.

Previously, reports suggested that the EMUI 11 update may be based on the company’s in-house OS called HarmonyOS 2.0. But that isn’t going to be the case and HarmonyOS 2.0 is now expected to be released in 2021.

Honor-MagicUI4

This means that Huawei may release EMUI 11 or Magic UI 4.0 based on Android 11 for Huawei and Honor devices. Matter of fact, we’ve created a dedicated tracker for the rollout of EMUI 11 on Huawei devices that you can check out here.

As for the Magic UI 4.0 update for some Honor smartphones, a recent report suggests that the Magic UI 4.0 beta for the Honor 30 and V30 series will go live sometime this month.

Moreover, some affordable offerings from Honor such as the Honor 9X will get EMUI 11 rather than Magic UI 4.0. So in this post, we’ll be tracking the rollout of Magic UI 4.0 and EMUI 11 on Honor smartphones.
