The BBC red button text service enables users to view headlines, football scores, weather, and travel news on the BBC channels.

BBC was set to do away with the feature last year, however, had to change its plans after users protested against the move.

While things usually run smoothly, some Sky subscribers are reporting that the BBC red button text service isn’t working on their TV boxes.

Based on the individual’s report on Twitter, it seems that the BBC red button text service on Sky has not been working for several hours.

Luckily, Sky support hasn’t wasted much time acknowledging the reports. Responding to the individual’s tweet, the support team said the following:

We are aware of an issue and currently investigating. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. We’ll keep you updated (Source)

Apart from the response, Sky support has also posted a separate tweet wherein they’ve confirmed that some customers are unable to launch the red button interactive services on BBC channels.

The team has confirmed that they’re working on a fix for the problem. However, they’ve not shared any ETA for the resolution.

This means it may take anywhere between a couple of hours or days for the problem to be fixed.

We’ll keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when there are any further developments regarding the BBC red button text service not working on Sky.

This isn’t the first time something like this is happening. We previously also reported that the Sky Sports red button service not working on Virgin Media.

Nevertheless, since the issue has been acknowledged, you can expect a fix to arrive shortly.
