Bethesda Softworks LLC, an American video game developer and publisher, was one of the first game developers.
The company has since been through roller coasters to finally reach here when they have a big portfolio of games, and some of them are even among the top picks.
Bethesda was, however, acquired by Microsoft this year and now we are getting to hear a big step taken by the company.
The community manager has announced that the forum is going to be taken down starting May 24.
This comes as a surprise for a big gamer community that used to hang around in there for news, discussions, and fun.
The forum manager says it will shut down following a gradual process where first the writing rights will be scrapped, leaving the community only for reading.
Community wanderers will get a window of 30 days to save all the content they find necessary. This will eventually lead to the shutting down of the community.
On July 6, the sections will begin to permanently disappear. Users, however, will be able to interact with the community on the Discord server.

A. We recommend that you submit a request through a user support portal at help.bethesda.net.
Q. Where to send reviews and suggestions?
A. We look forward to hearing from you on Discord and Reddit, as well as on social media.
Q. Will comments on modifications on the Bethesda.net be affected?
A. Yes, comments on modifications are saved by forums and will also be deleted. We recommend that authors specify their social media channels or Discord’s private servers in the descriptions of the modifications. This will allow you to keep in touch with players using the tools they prefer. Our official Discord servers are recommended for general discussion of modifications.
Q. Will the official Elder Scrolls Online forums be affected?
A. No. Only Bethesda.net forums will be closed. Elder Scrolls Online forums will continue as normal.
The company assures this isn’t farewell, just a halt to the official forums. The conversations will move from Bethesda.net forums to their official Discord Servers.
With this we hope it doesn’t deter the gaming experience and the bond that the community once enjoyed.
