Some Google Meet users on Android tablets missing raise hand feature, fix in the works but no ETA

Google Meet came to everyone’s aid last year when it was very much needed. The video-communication service offers some pretty handy features.

Among them, the raise hand feature which allows users to easily let the moderators know if they want to speak up.

While the raise hand feature came out late last year, some users have been unable to use it on their Android tablets.

As per multiple threads on the Google Support community, the Google Meet raise hand button is missing for several users.

User reports indicate that they have been using the Google Workspace editions on which the raise hand feature is available. However, the option to use it is not appearing in the app on some Android tablets.

I’m using samsung tab s7, it doesn’t show the hand raising icon during the meeting.

I’m trying to use a huawei media pad t3 10 to mark work, I can’t see the chn on meet and can’t see raised hands. I’ve reset tablet, installed and uninstalled, etc

The very first reports on this issue came to light right after the raise hand feature was released.

It seems that the issue is still causing inconvenience to those with Android tablets, while the tech giant is figuring a way to resolve it.

A Google Support Community Expert also said that the issue is being looked into by the Google Meet team but there is no ETA on when it will be fixed.

This issue has been reported to Google Meet. I don’t know when you will get the update.

This issue has been reported to the engineers. You will also want to report this to the Google Meet support team, as the feature seems to not have been included in the Android tablet version of the app.

It is possible that those who are facing this issue have been using a previous version or unable to update Google Meet on their Android tablets.

Also, an affected user said that the issue got resolved for them after updating the Google Meet app manually via the latest update APK.

So, if you are facing the said problem on your Android tablet, you can also grab the latest Google Meet APK from here and let us know if it fixes the issue for you by dropping a comment below.

Hopefully, Google addresses the Google Meet raise hand button missing issue soon as eligible Google Workspace users have been facing it for quite some time now.

That said, we will be back with more details as and when new information becomes available so stay tuned.
