MIUI system apps updater not working for over a week on Mi, Redmi, & Poco devices; fix in works

Xiaomi has only listed a couple of their system apps on the Google Play Store including the likes of the Mi Calculator app. The rest get updated through the MIUI system apps updater.

However, it now appears that this crucial tool has stopped working for a bunch of users. Judging from complaints, this seems to have begun a week or so back.

Has anyone else experienced such issue on Redmi Note 10 Pro? from Xiaomi

As clear from the above, the system apps updater does show a badge indicating that there are updates available.

However, clicking it leads to a loading screen followed by a “Couldn’t get info, wait a minute or two and try again” error. As a result, there’s simply no way to update the system apps apart from a manual APK installation.

Reports have originated from Mi, Redmi, and even Poco devices opening up the possibility that the problem is more widespread than what meets the eye.

Still, not all are affected as there are quite a few that have pointed out that the updater is working just fine for them.

Anyway, if you’re one of those actually facing the MIUI system apps updater not working issue, then you might want to switch to another region and then back. A few users reported that this fixed the bug for them.

Additionally, a couple of users also pointed out that they only faced the issue when trying to use the updater with Wi-Fi. And as soon as they switched to mobile data, the updater started working once again.

If neither of the workarounds seem to do the job for you, then you will be pleased to know that the issue is a known one and is already being analyzed by Xiaomi/Poco. Therefore, it should be resolved soon enough.

For now, just sit tight and wait.
