YouTube is by far the most popular video-sharing platform and is also the second most visited website in the world, after Google, of course.

To keep people glued to the app and drive up watch time on YouTube, Google constantly experiments with new features and even finds ways to improve the user experience.

Speaking of which, YouTube recently started testing a new feature for the Android app that shows Google search results in the app along with related videos as highlighted by the folks over at XDA.

Up until now, there was no news regarding the availability of Google search results in the YouTube app for iOS.

However, an iOS user recently took to Twitter to share a screenshot of the Google search results popping up in the YouTube app.

As you can see from the screenshot shared above, the YouTube app for iOS is also showing Google search results amongst the related videos.

In our testing, it seems that the search results only pop up for certain queries. Moreover, the feature is not available to all iOS users as we weren’t able to get it to work on our unit.

Google has not shared any details regarding the availability of the feature for everyone yet.

Although now that the feature is being tested on the iOS app too, we expect to see a wider rollout soon.

Matter of fact, we recently noticed the availability of the feature on one of our Android devices that didn’t get it initially. This suggests that Google might be opening up testing for the feature to more users.

Whatever the case, we’ll post an update if and when there are any further developments regarding the feature.

In the meantime, feel free to share your thoughts about YouTube showing Google search results within the app on Android and iOS.
