Original story (published on April 02) follows:

Outriders is a cooperative third-person role-playing game which came out yesterday i.e. April 1, 2021.

It is available on numerous platforms like PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Stadia, Xbox Series X/S, and Microsoft Windows.

However, there are multiple reports of several issues that users have been facing with Outriders including the “Internet Connection Error” (Cross-Play support) and missing HUD issues.

While the Crossplay support issue has been official acknowledged by the developers, there is no official word on the missing HUD issue.

So, let’s take a look at both issues along with possible temporary workarounds for the same.

Outriders Internet Connection Error (Crossplay support)

As per several user reports and game developers, the issue appears to be affecting the cross-platfrom support between PCs and consoles, while users are getting the internet connection error.

This is further causing users to log out of the game abruptly while playing whereas many users are not able to join the game at all.

Taking to the official Outriders Twitter handle, the developers have stated that they are aware of the Crossplay support issue and it is being looked into on priority.

Nevertheless, Epic and Steam users can connect and play along via invite code or matchmaking without any hassle.

While this is not exactly a workaround, the developers have mentioned that PC players can invite console players (or vice versa) through invite code and the game will connect initially.

However, one player will be logged out of the game eventually which is why the developers have recommended against this workaround.

Outriders missing HUD

There are multiple reports of this issue where users have stated that the HUD does not appear while playing.

It is unclear as to what is causing this issue as the developers are yet to acknowledge the same.

Some enthusiastic users have come up with some workarounds that involve leaving back to the lobby and launching the game again from there.

The aforementioned workaround might fix the missing HUD issue but it is recommended to try all the other workarounds from the video given below that involve tweaking in-game settings and more.

It is, however, unclear whether the developers are preparing a patch to fix the missing HUD issue or not.

It might be possible that both issues i.e., the Crossplay support and missing HUD, will be fixed in a single patch but that is still based on our speculation.

Hopefully, the developers resolve both issues soon as a lot of users are unable to enjoy the recently released game.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.

Update 1 (April 03)

Reports circulating on Twitter convey Outriders servers are down again as of writing this.

@Outriders
I am very sad to see so many issues with the game servers, aside from the servers going down 2 times in less than 4 hours I have enjoyed the 2 hours I’ve gotten in so far though. Hopefully the servers are figured out quickly!

And now the #Outriders servers are down again. Hey, devs? When you advertise a game as single player with a co-op option? DON’T MAKE IT ONLINE ONLY.

However, there is yet to come any official confirmation on the matter. The Outriders server status page shows the company is still investigating an issue that was reported on April 01.

There is also this Twitter thread on Outriders issues that you many want to check out.

Here is what Outriders on Twitter have to say:

We’re aware that this restart was unsuccessful due to an issue with the implemented solution.

For full transparency, it may take up to an hour to resolve this, but we will keep you continually updated here.

End of Saturday Note (1/2)

Our servers are continuing to improve as the team is working hard to stabilize them in the longterm.

Should you encounter any further connectivity issues, please do keep an eye on http://status.outriders.net

We have continued to document all tracked issues with workarounds so far in this Reddit thread (Including Stuttering issues & Crashes on the “A Bad Day” quest!)

If you encounter any problems, please check this thread!

We are treating this issue with the highest priority and are working on patches that resolve these issues.

We don’t yet have an ETA on the patch readiness but it unfortunately won’t be released before the end of weekend as it needs to be propped across all platforms.
