Original story (published on February 05, 2021) follows:

On January 14, Samsung unveiled the Galaxy S21 series consisting of the Galaxy S21, Galaxy S21+, and the Galaxy S21 Ultra.

Being flagship phones, all three models come with the latest and greatest hardware, although the Galaxy S21 Ultra has slightly better optics and capabilities out of the bunch. Of course, it also comes with a hefty price tag.

The Samsung Galaxy S21 models come with the company’s custom One UI 3.1 skin pre-installed that’s based on Android 11. Although, e-commerce sites in India claim otherwise.

At present, the only other Samsung devices that have got the One UI 3.1 skin are the Galaxy Tab S7 variants with others such as the Galaxy S10 expected to get the update soon.

That being said, while most early reviews of the devices seem positive, there are a few issues some users have pointed out such as the lack of eSIM support in the U.S., even though the company states, on its site, that the device supports it.

Now, another issue has been highlighted by a Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra user in South Korea.

Apparently, the call waiting notification sound is low, and thus it’s hard to know when there’s an incoming call while on a call on the Samsung Galaxy S21 variants.

While the issue has not been widely reported — likely due to the fairly recent release — a moderator has indeed confirmed that the issue is being worked upon.

According to the moderator’s comment, Samsung will be modifying the call waiting tone volume for the Galaxy S21 series that should fix the low sound issue.

The fix would arrive with the next software update which should be released soon according to the mod.

As usual, we will continue to keep track of the situation and will post an update if and when the fix is released.

In the meantime, be sure to check out our dedicated tracker to know the status of One UI 3.1 for all eligible devices.

Update 1 (February 12)

03:19 pm (IST): A Samsung mod has confirmed that the low call waiting sound issue has been fixed with a recent software update for the Samsung Galaxy S21, S21+, and S21 Ultra.

Hi. I am in charge of Galaxy S.

There is a VOC that the sound of the waiting tone during a call is small, so the volume has been modified to be larger than before in the UB2 version (distributed on February 5th). (Source)
