New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on January 29, 2021) follows:

Realme has kick-started the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program for a number of devices from its portfolio already and is expected to open up this beta program to several other eligible phones shortly.

Most recently, the company opened up the registrations for the Early Access program for the Realme X2, Realme V5 5G, and the Realme Q2.

The Early Access program gives interested users a chance to try out the company’s latest Realme UI 2.0 skin based on Android 11 ahead of the general public.

Hence, only those users who don’t mind dealing with bugs and issues with these early builds are advised to enroll for the beta testing.

Unfortunately, it appears many have learned this the hard way since multiple reports suggest that users are facing issues while using Netflix, Amazon Prime Video, and possibly other similar apps after installing the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access update.

We’ve shared some complaints from affected users below:

Apart from the crashing, rebooting, and back screen issues while using Netflix and Amazon Prime, some users (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) are even claiming that the Widevine license has dropped to L3 from L1 after installing the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access build.

Of course, as we mentioned earlier, the Early Access program is meant for those who are willing to test early builds and report bugs and issues in order to help developers fix the issues ahead of the public rollout.

Therefore, if you have been waiting for the Realme UI 2.0 Early Access program to go live for your device, you may want to reconsider enrolling for the beta in case you consume content on Netflix and Prime Video.

The issues should be fixed in upcoming builds or at least when the Realme UI 2.0 stable update goes live for either of the affected devices.

As usual, we will post an update once new details emerge regarding the issues users are facing on Netflix and Amazon Prime Video.

Meanwhile, stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know about the status and availability of Realme UI 2.0 for all eligible devices from the company.
