Original story (published on May 22, 2020) follows:

The smartphone market is a pretty volatile one, where you would see new and old players emerging every now and then, trying to get their share of the pie in the market. TCL is one of such brands.

Well, it is not the first time, TCL will be venturing into the smartphone world because it has been in the smartphone business for years (Android Blackberry phones).

However, their latest Android devices, the TCL 10 Pro and TCL 10 L can be considered as a way to revamp the smartphone division for TCL. Both the devices are well placed in the mid-range category and provide decent specs for the price.

Talk about TCL 10L, it packs Snapdragon 655 coupled with 6 GB of RAM, a 4,000 mAh battery, 6.53-inch screen, quad-camera setup with 48 MP primary lens, and a rear-mounted fingerprint scanner.

As far as the TCL 10 Pro is concerned, it is slightly more beefed up as compared to TCL 10 L and packs SD 675, a 4,500 mAh battery, quad-camera setup with 64 MP primary shooter and under-display optical fingerprint scanner.

What’s common is that both the TCL 10 Pro and TCL 10 L come with Android 10 (TCL UI) out of the box. And going by the recent post by one of the Twitter users, the TCL 10 Pro, and 10 L will get a minimum of one Android OS upgrade (meaning Android 11) and bimonthly security updates for the next two years.

When we asked about the source of this info, the guy said that the information is from his inside source at TCL. Here is what the tweet reads:

Some news on the TCL front –
@TCLMobileGlobal @TCL_USA confirm that both the #TCL10Pro and the #TCL10L will get at a minimum one major OS update (Android 11) and also Security updates every other month for 2 years.
