OnePlus 8T face unlock & Vision Comfort not getting enabled issues already being looked into, says staff member
The OnePlus 8T is a solid Android device as it packs the very latest internals, all at a fraction of similarly spec’d devices from other OEMs.
The fact that this was the first OnePlus device to run the latest Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 out of the box is only an icing to an already awesome cake.
However, it is this software that has seemingly watered down the reputation of an otherwise awesome and almost complete smartphone package.
Since the official unveiling a few months ago, users of the OnePlus 8T have been incessantly complaining of bugs and issues in the said software. We’ve been keeping tabs on many of these and you can check out our coverage of the same here.
Recently, we looked at one such issue where users of the OnePlus 8T, along with users of the OnePlus 8 and 8 Pro, were experiencing various Comfort Tone/Visual Comfort issues after recent OxygenOS 11 updates.
At the time, a OnePlus staff member came out to say that this is an expected behavior and the devices are meant to do that as it aids the in-display fingerprint scanner.
Well, as it turns out, this might have been an anomaly after all. In response to a user complaint about this issue on the OnePlus 8T, a staff member notifies affected users that the issue is being taken care of by the developer team.
Also according to a OnePlus 8T user, there’s yet another bug surrounding the device’s face unlock feature. According to the affected user, the OnePlus 8T gets stuck on the lock screen when a face unlock attempt is unsuccessful.
…. When A Face Unlock fails once, the screen never locks out and stuck in the lock screen. Is it a bug? If it’s a bug, I’m looking forward to fix it with software update…
In response to this user query, a OnePlus staff member promptly notifies the affected user that the developer team is already working on a fix for this issue.
With this, users of the OnePlus 8T facing issues with their devices’ face unlock or visual comfort feature should rest easy, knowing that their troubles are being looked into.
