[Updated] Samsung Galaxy S20 One UI 3.0 (Android 11) update in stable version scheduled to start in early December, says mod

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on November 27, 2020) follows:

It has been a while since Samsung started testing One UI 3.0 beta update based on Android 11 on the Galaxy S20, Galaxy S20+ and Galaxy S20 Ultra smartphones in different parts of the world.

As usual, the beta testing exercise started in the home country of South Korea before spreading to other regions in Europe, America and even Asia.

Granted, the stable rollout was always going to begin in the home country as well. And apparently, this will kick off this December, at least according to a community moderator.

Hello. Galaxy S. The official version of S20 Android 11 is currently being reviewed and will open fota in December.
A more detailed schedule is likely to be answered in early December. Thank you to everyone who encouraged us through beta participation and members.

It is no surprise that the stable version of One UI 3.0 is almost ready for the Galaxy S20 series. After all, the S20 family was the first to get the beta so this explains it all.

As for the timing, it resonates with last year’s One UI 2.0 rollout. It was such a time in 2019 that the Galaxy S10 series started receiving the stable Android 10 update.

While the early One UI 3.0 beta release got us thinking the stable version would be released earlier than last year, it appears this won’t be the case. Instead, the window remains basically unchanged, which is not a terrible thing.

Since the update is likely to start rolling out in Korea, those in Europe, other parts of Asia and North America will have to wait a little longer before the firmware arrives.

For those on carrier variants of the Galaxy S20 series, the update to One UI 3.0 will take even longer for the usual reasons. We will keep an eye on the rollout and let you know when your variant bags the firmware.

Meanwhile, feel free to check out our One UI 3.0 update tracker here. We also have a dedicated Android 11 tracker for all carriers here.

Since just about every piece of software is hardly bug-free, we also have a dedicated tracker for all One UI 3.0 bugs and issues, along with their current status, here.

      Update 1 (December 02)

Samsung will allegedly begin rolling out the stable One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 for the Samsung Galaxy S20 series starting tomorrow (December 03). The information was shared by the Samsung support team in Korea.

We’ve shared a translated image of the message from Samsung support below: (Via)

      Update 2 (December 03)

The One UI 3.0 update has begun rolling out to Samsung Galaxy S20 users in Europe, UK, U.S, and Korea. Therefore, the mod’s comment seems to have been accurate. More details here.

      Update 3 (December 04)

Samsung Galaxy S20 series owners in Sweden have also begun receiving the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11. So in case you haven’t yet received the OTA update in Europe, there’s no need to worry since it should be available soon.

      Update 4 (December 21)

As per a recent report, Samsung might have started rolling out the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 to the Galaxy S20 (Exynos) series in Australia.
