Original story (published on December 02, 2020) follows:

Pocophone F1, which is known as the Poco F1 in India, received the MIUI 12 update back in October albeit, with some bugs and issues.

Some user reports included missing slow-motion video recording, device gets overheated while recording 4K videos, laggy animations, rapid battery drains, and more.

Now, more users of the Poco F1 are reporting about issues related to Amazon Prime Video and it seems that these problems have come to light only after the MIUI 12 update.

Multiple reports suggest that users are getting the “Video Unavailable” error when streaming videos on Amazon Prime Video.

While these reports are coming from the official Poco F1 Telegram group for the time being, the issues still appear to be widespread considering the growing number of user reports.

The issue is yet to be acknowledged and addressed by the OEM but the Telegram channel admin has asked if anyone else is facing the same problem.

Looking at the number of users reporting about the same issue, the OEM should address it on a larger scale but it is unclear when that will transpire.

Also, the issue does not appear to be related to the Widevine certification level as users have reported that their Widevine level is showing as L1.

Nevertheless, the cause of the said problem remains unclear until official announcements are made by the OEM.

We hope the issue gets rectified soon and on a wider scale as more and more reports keep on surfacing about the same.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.

Update 1 (December 02)

05:40 pm (IST): It appears that Amazon’s technical support team has got back to one user who reported about the Prime Video issue on the Poco F1.

As per the alleged message, the Poco F1 does not support HD streaming on Amazon Prime Video.

However, Amazon is adding support for the device “one by one”. Thus, streaming HD videos on Amazon Prime Video should resume as usual for Poco F1 users once support is added back.
