OnePlus allegedly working to address OnePlus 8T critical camera quality issue

OnePlus maintains a pretty slim portfolio of devices and since the company has been, in recent times, taking the fight to the premium market segment, its devices are also set to be held to the same standards.

OnePlus already has design and pricing locked down, as well as raw power since its top-tier devices pack the most powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 8xx chips.

      OnePlus-8T-1

Sadly though, and just like any other OEM on the face of the planet today, OnePlus devices are also prone to a few issues here and there.

We have a dedicated OxygenOS 11 bug tracker and you can check that out. OnePlus 8T, the company’s latest premium device, hasn’t been spared such issues either.

While we continue to keep an eye on these issues and their expected fixes, it is now coming to light that users of the OnePlus 8T are also facing various issues with their new devices’ cameras.

Many of these users are reporting a general poor camera performance on their devices. According to them, the OnePlus 8T has a critical camera quality issue that needs to be promptly addressed.

Others are noting with concern that their devices produce washed out and grainy images

There have also been reports of a black filter when taking 2X zoom photos on the OnePlus 8T as demonstrated by this user on the community forum.

Another OnePlus 8T critical camera quality issue results in a purple tint in night mode (1,2,3,4) and a myriad of issues with Portrait mode are just some of the other issues that have been put forward by affected users.

In my OnePlus 8T I found that there’s a camera issue particularly in portrait mode and in nightscape mode. There’s little bit black and white photos in portrait mode and bad colors in nightscape mode. Solve this problem OnePlus ASAP or collect your phones back it!!! It is the best phone but in this price segment you should have given a better camera!!!!!

Luckily for affected users, this issue has been brought to the attention of OnePlus in droves and as it turns out, OnePlus is aware of this.

In an alleged response to a user concern, OnePlus through a support staff member reveals that the company is aware of the OnePlus 8T critical camera quality issue and the developers are working on it.

With that, affected users might want to sit tight and look forward to an update that should, at least in theory, address many of the issues reported above.

We shall be on hand to update as and when we get more info on these issues so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb for these and more.
