Software development can be an incredibly tedious process that involves constant bug-fixing and optimization. A little misstep and millions of devices could get damaged.

To thoroughly test out new builds before they are rolled out to the wider public, many OEMs employ the services of Beta-testers.

Users who take part in these insider programs get an early look at pre-released software and they’re supposed to take it through its paces and identify any catastrophic bugs that need attention before the update gets deployed.

OnePlus does this in its Open Beta program and there is an Open Beta program for all the major devices that the company supports.

OnePlus 8T was unveiled fairly recently and as more and more users continue to pick up these units, OnePlus needs to start thinking ahead.

To test out the upcoming updates to the OnePlus 8T devices, OnePlus needs to have an Open Beta program in place and today, the company has announced that it is beginning HydrogenOS 11 internal recruitment.

As this device is fairly new in the market, this is the first time such a program is surfacing for the OnePlus 8T since its launch last month.

OnePlus often develops updates and features for its Chinese ROM, HydrogenOS, then ports these to the global/international OxygenOS shortly afterward.

This recruitment of HydrogenOS 11 users on the OnePlus 8T for a beta testing program in China, therefore, means that the same for OxygenOS 11 should be announced pretty soon.

The OnePlus 8T is among the few devices running Android 11-based OxygenOS 11 having been launched with it out of the box. The other devices are the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

We shall be on hand to convey the recruitment process as and when it opens up so users of OnePlus 8T that would like to take part in the upcoming OxygenOS 11 Open Beta program, better get ready to apply.

Update 1 (December 02)

10:20 am (IST): While OnePlus is yet to kick-start the Open Beta program for the OnePlus 8T, it has begun recruiting users to take part in the OxygenOS Closed Beta program.

There are only 200 slots available thus your chances of getting in may be fairly slim. Head here to enroll for the Closed Beta program for the device.
