Xiaomi Mi 10, Mi 9 Lite & Mi 9T Pro/Redmi K20 Pro “flashing back when opening life yellow pages” bug under investigation

Xiaomi’s MIUI 12 beta program keeps on bringing new features to the latest custom skin but beta builds are typically known to be unstable.

It is only natural of beta updates to have some bugs and one such bug is affecting several Xiaomi devices including the Mi 10, Mi CC9 (aka Mi 9 Lite), and Redmi K20 Pro (aka Mi 9T Pro).

The OEM recently released the MIUI 12 beta update version 20.11.16 which brought the Mind Map feature to the MIUI Notes app.

However, the update also triggered an issue on the Mi 10 which is being dubbed as the “flashing back when opening life yellow pages” bug.

It is mentioned in the update notes that the said bug is being investigated and will be addressed in subsequent updates.

Also, the announcement for the MIUI 12 update version 20.11.17 has been made on the Xiaomi & MIUI News Telegram channel.

The announcement post outlines that devices like the Mi CC9 (aka Mi 9 Lite) and Redmi K20 Pro (aka Mi 9T Pro) are also affected by the same bug.

The OEM has advised users to disable the “5G message” option under the SMS settings in case they come across the “flashing back when opening life yellow pages” bug.

What is causing this bug is unclear but it seems that the OEM is working on fixing it as soon as possible as users have been asked to watch out for the upcoming MIUI 12 beta updates.

Nevertheless, beta updates are not meant to be used as daily drivers because they can contain many such bugs that make them hard to use.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide more details once new information becomes available.
