Just like the ROG Phone 3 that came out in July, users are now excited about the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro from Asus. The powerful duo was announced in August and is expected to release this month.

While users are highly liking the ROG Phone 3 because of its game-ready specs, the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro are also said to offer some serious hardware. However, there is some development on the software front and that’s even before both devices have hit the market.

Asus has released the first software update for the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro which offers a bunch of improvements and fixes among some features. This is good news considering users will get a more optimized and stable experience with their ZenFone 7 or 7 Pro.

The update version 29.12.18.10 brings fixes for the occasional system restart, screen brightness adjustment and DC dimming, and Camera night mode quality and noise performance issues on the Global ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro variants.

Moreover, the first update enables Google Lens on the Asus Camera app along with the addition of Dual-band WiFi network and group alarm features. Apart from this, the update includes the functionality to mute a single app when multiple apps in the foreground make sounds.

Update 1 (September 02)

IST: 09:02 pm: The duo is receiving a new update, bumping the from version 29.12.18.10 to 29.12.18.12. The new update brings improved system performance and that’s all, at least according to the changelog.

Update 2 (September 07)

IST: 06:05 pm: The devices are now getting a new update bumping the version to 29.12.18.14. As for the changes it offers, the update improves touch stability and also enhances the sound quality of the Bluetooth headsets.

Update 3 (September 29)

IST: 02:58 pm: According to an announcement on the ZenTalk community, the Asus ZenFone 7 has bagged a new update that brings along a few improvements and fixes. We’ve added the release notes for the update version 29.13.7.24 below:

Update 4 (October 20)

IST: 06:31 pm: Asus has rolled out a new update for the ZenFone 7 Pro which comes as version 29.13.7.44. It brings a couple of optimizations and also enables VoWiFi on CSL (HK).

IST: 05:01 pm: Asus has begun rolling out a new update for the ZenFone 7 and ZenFone 7 Pro. It is available as version 29.13.7.47 and brings some optimizations and improvements to the two devices.

Update 5 (November 17)

IST: 01:10 pm: Asus has now released a new update for the Asus ZenFone 7 Pro and the ZenFone 7. The new update is available on the WW, RU, and EU SKUs as version 29.14.53.5.

The new update does not bring any significant new features or bug-fixes, however, it improves the touch and camera stability and brings a new security patch as highlighted by the release notes.

– Turned on the “Auto-download via Wi-Fi” setting in System update by default

Update 6 (December 23)

IST: 12:52 pm: Asus ZenFone 7 and Asus ZenFone 7 Pro are getting a new update which offers the November security patch along with camera quality improvements. The update comes as version 29.14.53.14.

Update 7 (January 22)

IST: 04:02 pm: Asus is rolling out a fix for the bug which resulted in the Widevine license dropping from L1 to L3 on the ZenFone 7 and 7 Pro.

The update also brings the January security patch and enables VoLTE on the Telia network in Lithuanian. Further, the release notes state that the update improves the touch stability.
