Android 11 likely the next update for Xiaomi Mi 10 & Mi 10 Pro as duo bags October security patch

Xiaomi Mi 10 and Xiaomi Mi 10 Pro Chinese and global variants have already bagged the Android 11 update albeit as the beta stable version.

The Android 11 beta stable update has been around for the global Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro variants for quite some time.

However, it is the European Mi 10 variant for which the latest OS update is yet to come out and there is no official word on the matter yet.

Also, a wider rollout of the latest OS update is expected on the global Mi 10 units as not everyone has got their hands on it for the time being.

Xiaomi recently released the Android 10-based October 2020 security update for the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro in China and Europe.

      Common changelog:
      Control center
      – Optimization: Control center layout in landscape mode
      System
      – Updated Android Security Patch to October 2020. Increased system security.

It is now expected that the next Mi 10 series update, supposedly the November 2020 security update, would bring along Android 11.

Moreover, a larger rollout is expected which should ideally cover at least all global and European Mi 10 series variants.

Nevertheless, this is still based on our speculations as the OEM has not made any such announcements about the Mi 10 series.

Furthermore, the October patches released for the Mi 10 series are also beta stable version which mean that they are yet to arrive on the stable channel.

It is, however, unclear whether the security patch will come along with the Android 11 stable update for all.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide details once more information becomes available.
