New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on September 19, 2020) follows:

Google’s latest OS is out for several devices while OEMs are striving to rollout their Android 11-based updates as soon as possible.

However, LG is a bit behind when it comes to software updates. Some LG devices including LG G8s ThinQ and LG G7 ThinQ are still awaiting the Android 10-based LG UX 9.0 update.

It was reported earlier that the OEM is rolling out the Android 10-based LG UX 9.0 update for LG G8X ThinQ in India.

Also, the Indian LG V40 ThinQ variant also received the OS update by August-end but there was no news about the LG G8s and G7 ThinQ.

Now, there is some good news for the Indian LG G8s ThinQ and LG G7 ThinQ users as LG has released the OS update schedule for several devices.

While LG V40 ThinQ has already received the OS update in India, it seems that the OEM will provide another update for the device.

As per LG’s OS update schedule, LG G8s ThinQ Indian variant will start receiving the Android 10 (LG UX 9.0) update from October 7, 2020.

Nevertheless, the LG G7 ThinQ Android 10 update will start rolling out in India from September 25, 2020 which is less than a week from now.

As for the LG V40 ThinQ, it appears that the previous Android 10 rollout was for select users only and a wider rollout will begin from October 5, 2020.

This is good news for LG users in India as they can finally get their hands on the Android 10-based LG UX 9.0 custom skin.

It must be noted that LG is also preparing the newer Velvet UI update for several devices including the LG G8s, G7, and V40 ThinQ.

Moreover, LG V50 ThinQ and LG V40 ThinQ have already bagged Velvet UI in Korea while remaining devices are expected to get it in other regions soon.

That said, we are constantly tracking the development of LG Velvet UI so stay tuned to PiunikaWeb to get regular updates on the topic.
