Xiaomi is a very popular smartphone brand among young people looking to spend little while getting the most out of it.

In Redmi and Redmi Note devices, the company has struck the perfect balance between specs and price.

Top-notch performance specs and features are what you can expect from any Redmi or Redmi Note device regardless of the price point.

However, to achieve top performance, software updates and optimization is where it is at. And Xiaomi has been doing a decent job with updates to MIUI 12, the latest skin on offer.

Besides the flurry of new features MIUI 12 brings to the table, there are also several unwanted guests that tag along. In a post published in the Mi Community, Xiaomi goes on to shed some light on these unwanted guests.

The Chinese company has also highlighted a number of bugs and issues being experienced by devices still on MIUI 11, with the expectation that upcoming updates to MIUI 12 will address them.

Mi 10 Lite 5G Top issue: Other party can’t hear the voice in version V12.0.2.0.QJIEUXM
Reason: According to the analysis result, this is the RF module issue of QC 8250 and 7250, will perform stress test at the end of Sep with new build
Problem: After a period of time, the other party cannot hear the voice.

After the update to MIUI 12.0.2.0, some users of the Mi 10 Lite in Italy are experiencing call audio issues. Apparently, this issue is affecting devices on Snapdragon 865 and Snapdragon 765G chipsets.

After analysis, the problem currently only exists on the Qualcomm platform (8250/7250). It is a software bug of the Qualcomm RF module. The version will be tested at the end of September

This same call audio issue is also affecting owners of the Redmi Note 9S and Redmi Note 9 Pro on older MIUI builds V11.0.3.0.QJWEUXM, V11.0.7.0.QJWINXM, V11.0.3.0.QJWRUXM, V11.0.8.0.QJWINXM, V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM, and V11.0.11.0.QJWMIXM.

As per Xiaomi, the above issue has been addressed in newer MIUI 11 builds, but the company is still monitoring user feedback on the same.

Redmi Note 9 Pro/9s Top issue: Can’t hear other’s voice in versions V11.0.3.0.QJWEUXM, V11.0.7.0.QJWINXM, V11.0.3.0.QJWRUXM, V11.0.8.0.QJWINXM, V11.0.10.0.QJWMIXM, V11.0.11.0.QJWMIXM. The new version has been released in full, and the feedback rate is currently low, continue to observe the feedback.

Last but not least, the Redmi 8A Dual/Pro is also experiencing issues related to the FM Radio not working after updates to versions V11.0.1.0.QCQINXM/V11.0.1.0.QCQIDXM.

Apparently, this has something to do with the international antenna settings, but you can expect a fix to be part of the next OTA update. Will this be MIUI 12? No one knows, but we hope so.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem.
