Original story (published on September 18, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi has already taken its game to the next level with MIUI 12. The OEM is now getting ready for the third batch of MIUI 12 update rollout schedule as the second batch recently get over.

The latest custom skin has arrived on many Xiaomi devices while many are yet to get it.

MIUI 12 offers an overhauled UI along with many new features and a bunch of improvements. Features like Super Wallpapers, Super Document, Control Center, and Frame Rate Monitor Tool make MIUI 12 one of the most desirable Android custom skin.

Now, some new development appears to be taking place that suggests that Xiaomi might have already started working on the MIUI 13 update.

The information comes from the MIUI 12 Updates Telegram channel where an alleged MIUI 13 screenshot has been posted.

The screenshot shows an overhauled power off screen with a two way slider for restarting and switching off the device. Also, the caption states that the new Power Off animation is coming either to the later MIUI 12 builds or MIUI 13.

To recall, we saw the MIUI 13 Update (Download Access) app on Google Play Store back in July which turned out to be fake.

Also, a MIUI 13 development survey was also conducted by Xiaomi way back in April following which users started raising concerns for the Poco F1 MIUI 13 update.

While all this might suggest that Xiaomi is indeed planning to bring many more changes with the MIUI 13 update, the new information should still be taken with a pinch of salt considering MIUI 12 is yet to be fully deployed to all eligible devices.

Moreover, Xiaomi might release the MIUI 13 update on top of Android 11 by next year if the current MIUI update trend is to be taken into account.

So, be sure to go through our Xiaomi Android 11 update tracker as the OEM is currently focused on the latest OS update.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide updates as and when new information becomes available. Meanwhile, you can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker if your Xiaomi device is yet to bag the latest custom skin.
