Xiaomi MIUI 12 Calendar app update (V22.214.171.124) adds schedule import, account color modification, & more features
Since Google is the company behind the Android Open Source Project, it only makes sense that Google’s own services are heavily integrated into the whole project. As a result, Google’s own tools like Google Play Store, Maps, and more are baked into many Android devices.
The same applies to other services like Google Calendar and more. But these are by no means the only services we have. Many custom Android skins from big companies like Samsung and Xiaomi come with their own services like the Calendar. Apps that are far more feature-rich than Google’s offer.
One such app is Xiaomi’s offer, the Mi Calendar app. This app was recently made available on the Google Play Store for MIUI 12 devices and has features like allowing users to quickly switch between month, week, and day view; use Reminders to create and view to-dos alongside events among others.
Users of Xiaomi devices running MIUI 12 are in for a treat as the Mi Calendar app is getting even more features with the release of V126.96.36.199. With this build, according to the release notes, the Calendar app will get support for features such as the ability to add different colors to calendar entries, schedule imports and the ability to load up an ICS calendar file.
Below is an excerpt from the app’s release notes. Please note that this has been directly translated from Chinese.
1. Added support for importing schedules through email accounts, local ICS calendar files, CalDav accounts, and URLs for unified and efficient management;
2. Added personalized functions such as calendar account color modification and synchronization frequency setting.
If you’re running MIUI 12 on your device, you might want to check for this update from your app store, although the initial rollout is targeting the China ROM. For the rest of us, it’s gonna be a while before we get this update but at least we know that it is coming.
We shall keep an eye on this and update once these features come to other MIUI 12 devices through the Play Store. You might also want to check out our dedicated Xiaomi section for more Xiaomi stories.
