AT&T HD Voice & more services coming to unlocked Samsung Galaxy & Google Pixel 4 phones via OTA updates
AT&T is a renowned telecom giant which offers services like HD Voice, Wi-Fi Calling, and Advanced Messaging to millions of subscribers across the globe. Now, these services may be reaching the unlocked Samsung Galaxy and Google Pixel 4 devices via OTA updates soon.
AT&T has recently released a list of unlocked devices that require an OTA update to enable HD Voice, Wi-Fi Calling, Video Call, and Advanced Messaging services. The list includes devices from the Samsung Galaxy, Google Pixel, Motorola G, and OnePlus 8 series.
Now, Samsung and Google are expected to enable these services for the Galaxy and Pixel 4 devices respectively. While not much information is shared by the OEMs about the OTA updates yet, the list from AT&T clearly indicates that the devices in question will be updated.
Also, some 5G capable devices from the Galaxy series that also require an update to enable AT&T’s 5G services are listed as well. This means that the OEMs are working on enabling the said services on their eligible devices and the OTA updates can be expected in the future.
Nevertheless, more clarity on the matter is yet to be provided by both Samsung as well as Google. So, if you own any device(s) mentioned in AT&T’s list and have already received an update, feel free to drop a comment below.
