Asus ROG Phone II is a powerhouse which was specifically designed to support heavy gaming. The device was launched in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box. Some of the key specs of the ROG Phone II include the Snapdragon 855+ SoC and a massive 6.59 inch display with 120Hz refresh rate.

The ROG Phone II bagged the Android 10 update in March and has been receiving incremental updates with improvements ever since. We reported earlier that the April security update brought a lot of fixes to the ROG Phone II.

Also, support for VoLTE came with the June update among other improvements. Moreover, the July update brought many fixes for third party launchers, Armoury Crate, and more. However, Asus ROG Phone II users have been facing different problems that appears to be hardware-related.

Many ROG Phone II users are reporting that they are facing issues where the screen blacks out and the device switches off while charging. As per the reports, when users are playing games on their ROG Phone II, the screen turns black but the app keeps on running.

Users have also reported that the functionality remains intact as their inputs are registered by the device. Also, a moderator has suggested that the issues are hardware-related and affected users will have to contact Asus support.

I had another user with very similar issue. The fix is hardware repair. You need to contact ASUS support

As mentioned by the moderator, a user posted that they took their ROG Phone II to the service center and the hardware was repaired after which they didn’t experience the black screen and phone shutting down while charging issues.

I also had the same issue i think it’s a software issue so I tried many things to fix but after that asus community members says it’s a hardware issue then I take my device to the service center and fix my device now no black screen issue no shutdown while charging, take your device to the service center they will fix the issue

While the OEM has not addressed these issues on a larger scale, the comment from the moderator confirms that the issues are indeed related to hardware. This is only natural as the ROG Phone II is designed for heavy gaming and after a while the hardware is bound to experience such faults.
