New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on August 06, 2020) follows:

Most mobile carriers in the US are planning to shut down their 3G networks. Therefore, users have been pondering the question of whether their device(s) supports VoWiFi and VoLTE on major carriers.

Voice over LTE or Voice over Wi-Fi are two major features that will help users make or receive high-quality calls even if there’s no 3G network at all. At present, most major carriers already support both VoLTE and VoWiFi on their networks.

Further, most phones launched within the past few years also come with support for the two connectivity features. And in order to make things easier for users, Motorola has released an official list of supported major U.S. carriers.

The list goes on to show which carriers offer VoLTE and VoWiFi support for various Motorola devices in the U.S. Check out the official list from the company below:

T-Mobile

– VoLTE: Yes
– VoWiFi: Yes

AT&T

– VoLTE: Yes
– VoWiFi: No

Verizon

– VoLTE: Yes
– VoWiFi: No

Sprint

– VoLTE: Yes
– VoWiFi: Yes

As you can see, VoLTE is supported by all major carriers. However, AT&T and Verizon do not currently offer VoWiFi support on Motorola devices. Thus, users on the AT&T and Verizon network will not be able to place or receive calls over a WiFi network. Of course, this can be fixed via a software update.

VoLTE and VoWiFi support is becoming a necessity these days. Thus, brands such as Asus are also working with carriers to bring support for VoLTE in the U.S. Nevertheless, it’s good to see all major players offer VoLTE and VoWiFi support for Motorola phones.

The company has also released the stable Android 10 update for almost all its smartphones. So we can expect Motorola to begin rolling out the Android 11 update soon. Here’s a list of eligible devices from Motorola that might get the update.

Update 1 (December 09)

10:25 am (IST): AT&T has a list of unlocked Motorola devices and the services they support on the AT&T network. The Motorola Razr 5G, as the name suggests, supports 5G as well as HD Voice whereas some other phones only support HD Voice.

Here’s the list of devices that was updated on November 09:
