New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 30, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi has been steadily updating its devices with the stable MIUI 12 update. A lot of devices have already received it while many more are slated to get it. Xiaomi Mi 8 is one such device which is yet to bag the latest custom skin.

The Mi 8 was Xiaomi’s flagship device for 2018 which comes with the Snapdragon 845 SoC and Android 8 Oreo out-of-the-box. The OEM has already provided the Mi 8 with its two promised OS updates. This means that the device now runs on Android 10-based MIUI 11.

However, Xiaomi Mi 8 was due to receive the stable MIUI 12 update in the second round of the MIUI 12 rollout schedule. Now, it seems that the stable MIUI 12 update is rolling out to the Mi 8 units in China.

Many users are reporting on Weibo, China’s Twitter equivalent, that they are now receiving the stable MIUI 12 update on their Mi 8. While Xiaomi has not yet made any official announcements about the stable update being live, user reports suggest otherwise.
