NOTICE: We’ve compiled a comprehensive Android 11 update tracker for all the major OEMs and carriers, and will be updating it continuously.

Android 11 is currently being tested by Google and various other OEMs. The latest Android version is set to release sometime next month or possibly in September. Like always, the new update will bring along some changes and improvements to enhance the user experience.

Typically, Google announces the next Android version at its Google I/O event during the middle of the year. But with the rapid spread of the Coronavirus, the search giant had to opt for a less flashy release.

The first Android 11 beta build was released in early June. As expected, the Pixel devices were the first phones on the block to get the beta. Although, OnePlus was not far behind Google in bringing the Android 11 beta for the OnePlus 8 and OnePlus 8 Pro.

Following that, brands such as Xiaomi, Realme, Oppo, and iQOO also kick-started their own Android 11 beta programs. As a result, by the beginning of July, 13 devices from 7 vendors were running the beta update. Since this was never the case with previous Android releases, it’s good to see that Android is moving in the right direction.

Going back a couple of years, apart from Nexus or Pixel phones, almost no other devices were part of the initial beta program before the release of a major Android update. This is slowly changing but there are still some potential roadblocks for quick Android OS updates.

Carriers such as Fido often roll out system updates after conducting their own internal testing. Thus, carrier-branded devices usually get updates a couple of weeks later than the unlocked variants. And with Android 11 around the corner, you might be wondering which phones offered by Fido will bag the update.

Fido Android 11 update: Eligible devices

Predicting which Android smartphones will receive an upcoming Android update has become a lot easier these days. This is mostly due to the fact that most Android OEMs release 2 major OS updates. Albeit, there are exceptions such as Google and OnePlus who both offer 3 OS updates.

Taking into account past update cycles and trends, we’ve put together a list of phones from Fido that might receive Android 11. Here’s a list of them:

– Google Pixel 4 & Pixel 4 XL (Beta available)
– Google Pixel 3a & Pixel 3a XL (Beta available)
– Google Pixel 3 & Pixel 3 XL (Beta available)
– Google Pixel 2 & Pixel 2 XL (Beta available)
– Samsung Galaxy S20 series
– Samsung Galaxy Note 10 series
– Samsung Galaxy S10 series
– Samsung Galaxy A51
– Samsung Galaxy A50
– Samsung Galaxy A71
– Samsung Galaxy A70
– Samsung Galaxy A20
– Samsung Galaxy A10e
– Samsung Galaxy Z Flip
– Samsung Galaxy Tab A 8.4 (2020)
– LG G8 ThinQ
– Huawei P30 Pro
– Huawei P30
– Huawei P30 Lite
– Huawei Mate 20 Pro
– Motorola Moto E

These are the devices from Fido that may get the Android 11 update once it’s released by the OEMs. Like we just mentioned, this list is based on an educated guess but is in no way an official confirmation by Fido.

That being said, there’s a chance that some of the phones in the list might not receive the Android 11 update for some odd reason. Further, it’s also possible that a device that is not mentioned here may bag the update.
