Original story (published on July 25, 2020) follows:

Xiaomi’s Pocophone F1 aka Poco F1 in India was one of the best value-for-money devices to have been launched in the past few years. It packed in some of the best specifications for its price with a few trade-offs.

On the software front, the Pocophone F1 came pre-loaded with Android 8.1 Oreo. Since then, it has already bagged the Android 10 update along with MIUI 11. Further, it has also been in line to receive the MIUI 12 update.

Xiaomi first announced MIUI 12 back in China along with its release schedule for the country. It then unveiled its plans for the global MIUI 12 update rollout a few weeks later. In which, the Poco F1 was said to be part of phase 2 of the MIUI 12 rollout to global units.

A month ago, we reported that the recruitment for MIUI 12 beta testers on the Pocophone F1 began. Recently, a moderator on the Mi community also claimed that the Poco F1 could be the next smartphone to get MIUI 12 after it was released for the Redmi Note 8 Pro.

Cut to now, a new announcement on the official Poco India Telegram group suggests that Poco F1 users who were selected for pilot testing will most likely get the MIUI 12 update starting next week.

For those naive, Xiaomi pushes the stable ROM to pilot testers (users who apply for the program) before releasing it for public users. If the information coming from the Telegram group is accurate, Poco F1 users can expect to receive the stable MIUI 12 update within a few weeks. Albeit, if there are no major bugs and issues with the rollout for pilot testers.

Further, the announcement message also mentions about the Poco X2. Unfortunately, no concrete information regarding the ETA has been provided. Although, it does state that the device will likely get MIUI 12 in August.

We have also rounded up all the details regarding the MIUI 12 update for the Poco X2 that you can check here. Nonetheless, with the new information, it appears the stable MIUI 12 update is not far away for Poco F1 and Poco X2 users.

That being said, it’s now just a waiting game. You can check out our MIUI 12 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.

Thank you, Rishab Verma, for sharing the information.
