Xiaomi released the Android 10 based MIUI 12 update for Redmi Note 8 back in June but quickly pulled it back due to major issues in the firmware. However, there has been no such news about Redmi Note 8T which is basically the same as Redmi Note 8 but it also has NFC support.
Redmi Note 8T has been constantly receiving Android security updates but there is no news as to when the device will receive the much-awaited MIUI 12. The device has also not received the Android 10 update and still runs on Android 9 (Pie) based MIUI 11.
While there appears to be no sign of MIUI 12, users can take a sigh of relief as Xiaomi has released another Android Pie based security update. The update comes in the form of a Beta Stable ROM for the European region.
The update is coming as MIUI 11.0.10.0.PCXEUXM and is currently being pushed to European countries, with other regions next in line. Redmi Note 8T users can grab the update over the air (OTA) or by downloading and flashing the file manually. Unfortunately, the official download link is not live yet.
Launched in November 2019, Redmi Note 8T packs a Qualcomm SDM665 Snapdragon 665, 3/4GB RAM, and 4,000 mAh battery. Xiaomi has also announced that Redmi Note 8T will receive the MIUI 12 update during its staged rollout.
However, there is no word about when the MIUI 12 update will be pushed out to Redmin Note 8T. MIUI 12 is a much-anticipated update for Xiaomi users and while some devices have already received the latest custom UI, many more are slated to receive it. While Redmi Note 8T is slated to receive the Android 10 update along with MIUI 12, it is uncertain as to when the device will start receiving it. Xiaomi earlier announced that the second stage of MIUI 12 rollout will begin in July and the Redmi Note 8T is expected to be part of this phase.
