Original story (published on July 16, 2020) follows:

The Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 was one of the best phones in its respective price range. It launched with Android 8.1 onboard back in 2018 and is now in line to receive the Android 10 update. Like most other OEMs, Asus also kick-started the Android 10 beta testing for the device a while back.

This allows smartphone vendors to iron out any bugs and issues that might have gone unnoticed during the internal testing. Asus has already released the Android 10 Beta 1, Beta 2 and Beta 3 updates for the device.

However, as we reported earlier, Vodafone users in India noticed that the VoLTE function is missing after the Beta 3 update. Bugs and issues often arrive via software updates but this is a rather strange yet major issue.

In the early report, a mod suggested that the ZB601KL model does not support VoLTE on the Vodafone network. But a new comment from another moderator on Asus’ community forums suggests that there may be some hope.

Responding to a users complaint regarding the Vodafone VoLTE issue, the mod made the following comment:

Hi there, thank you for reaching out, we have made a note of your concern, our team is looking into the same. We will get back to you on this.

Judging by the comment, it’s possible that a fix for the issue might be in the works. However, since the moderator has not specifically mentioned that it will be fixed, we can’t rule out the possibility that the issue will remain.

Yet again, we will have to wait for further clarification from Asus on the matter. This isn’t the only bug found on the device. We have also reported about the rounded screen corner issue and the audio quality problem on the device.

So it seems Asus has got a few things to work out before pushing the stable Android 10 build. Speaking of which, you can take a look at our Asus Android 10 update tracker to know when it arrives on your device.

Update 1 (July 28)

The Android 10 update for the Asus ZenFone Max Pro M1 will bundle support for VoLTE on the Vodafone network in India. This information comes from a moderator’s comment as well as the official Vodafone website. See the full story here.
