New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on July 3, 2020) follows:

Samsung Turkey revealed back in May that the Galaxy Tab A 2019 and Galaxy Tab S5e will be upgraded to Android 10 with One UI 2 somewhere in July 2020. At the time, no specific date was mentioned, but this wait is no more.

Matter of fact, the Galaxy Tab S5e picked up its update to One UI 2 based on Android 10 towards the end of last month. First was the UK and then China followed suit.

Unfortunately, the Galaxy Tab A 2019 Android 10 update was nowhere, but this ends today. As of this writing, the Galaxy Tab A 2019 is now receiving a new software update that bumps the security patch level to the latest July 2020.

While at it, the new firmware also switches the device from Android Pie to the newer Android 10 with the latest One UI 2.1 skin on top, tagging along plenty of new features for the tab.

In a separate report that we are yet to fully verify, reports from Indonesia suggest that the Galaxy A10s has just bagged the update to One UI 2.1. The A10s in this region already got updated to Android 10 and now it seems Samsung is giving the device a taste of the newer skin.

Again, we haven’t been able to confirm how true this info is, but if its indeed true, the update should hit your Galaxy A10s as version A107FXXU5BTCB. Below is a screenshot from a Twitter user who claims to have received the One UI 2.1 update on their A10s set.

Interestingly, the Galaxy A10s software update tracker for Indonesia has version A107FXXU6BTF1 as the latest update for this device, which arrived today carrying the June 2020 security patch. It remains to be seen if the tracker will be updated with the new info.

Update (July 13, 2020)

According to reports just coming in, the Galaxy Tab A 2019 update released a while back brings One UI 2.1 and not One UI 2.0 as we had earlier reported. These changes have been made to the initial story.

Furthermore, we can now confirm that more regions are now receiving the update. After the Philippines, the Galaxy Tab A 2019 is now receiving the One UI 2.1 update in Vietnam, Thailand (MPT, Mectel, Unlocked), Cambodia, Malaysia, and Chile. All these are LTE variants, with the Wi-Fi only variant still made to wait.

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
