HBO became the latest major player to join the increasingly competitive streaming market that is drastically shaping the way people consume content, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic.

With HBO Max, the company has stepped into the streaming market with what looks like an ambitious product targeting multiple platforms aimed at giving users the much-desired convenience and flexibility of watching their preferred content.

Unveiled on May 27, 2020, HBO Max is still limited to the United States for now. HBO must first sort out rights issues in order to enter the international market, with those in Latin America expected to join the party in 2021.

It remains unclear whether folks in Canada, UK, and other regions will also be invited to use HBO Max on their devices. For now, though, those in the U.S. can get the app and set it up straight away.

One major platform that is set to enjoy the arrival of the HBO Max app is Android TV. Those using the popular NVIDIA Shield TV can already install the app directly via the Google Play Store.

If the app isn’t showing up on your Shield TV, feel free to grab the APK download file and install it manually, you know, just like other APK files.

Besides NVIDIA Shield TV, HBO Max is also available on Android phones and tablets, Chromecast, Apple devices, Sony Android TVs, Samsung Smart TVs, devices with built-in Chromecast, PlayStation 4 systems, and Xbox One.
