We all are much aware that all Android phones in the market, come with a limited life. We do not mean that once, the device gets old, it becomes unusable, but we are pointing towards the non-reception of support by the OEM.

When the device is new, almost all the smartphone manufacturers guarantee software updates for enhancing the features of the phones. But as time passes by (by default, it is set at 2-years from the day the device was launched) company shifts its focus to newer devices, and the older devices are dropped from the update plans.

What this means is that, if you own a device 2-3 years old, then you cannot expect the latest Android OS or security update being pushed by the OEM for your device. The same is in the case for Motorola Moto G5 Plus users.

The Moto G5 Plus was released back in 2017 and it was one of the best mid-rangers of the uber-popular Moto G lineup by Motorola. The phone came with Android 7.0 Nougat out of the box.

Surprisingly, Motorola ditched the Moto G5 Plus by giving it a single software update in the form of Android 8.1 Oreo. But, thanks to the open-source nature that gives the third-party developers to bring new custom ROMs based on the latest Android OS, an Android 10 based custom ROM is now available for the Moto G5 Plus.

One of the cleanest and most popular custom ROMs, the Pixel Experience ROM now officially supports the Moto G5 Plus, meaning that users can enjoy the latest Android 10 features on their device.

What’s cooler is that the update brings May 2020 security patch for the Moto G5 Plus as well. Here is what the changelog reads:

– Google Camera Go by default (For HDR, use any other Google Camera)
– Now GCams are more stable in 2GB RAM variants
– More performance and better battery management
– May security patch

And if you are interested in flashing the Pixel Experience or the Pixel Experience Plus ROM on the Motorola Moto G5 Plus, then you can download the package file from the section below:

Notably, users should have an unlocked bootloader in order to install the Pixel experiencing custom ROM on your G5 Plus units. And before you do that, make sure that you take a complete backup of the data on your phone.
