Dark Mode has been one of the most hyped and most demanded features by Android users since it came into existence with the Android 10 firmware update.

Though several OEMs already had made a toned-down version of the dark mode already available with their custom UIs, a full-fledged experience was available, only with the Android 10 update.

The Google app dark mode feature was also made available last year for all the Google app beta Android users, and users the Google app users were not required to be running Android 10. They simply needed to be a beta tester of the app, and that’s it!

Here are some more reports, reported by the users on various platforms, bringing the disappearance of the dark mode issue into light:

I have a oneplus 6t, it’s running Android 10 and I have system wide dark mode working. For some reason my Google app has stopped being in dark mode. All my other Google apps are still in dark mode, it’s just the main one that’s stuck in default. Is there any fix for this?

@Google can I have dark mode back in the Google App? I’m part of the beta, but the themes option in settings disappeared and it reverted to “blinding white”.

Interestingly, my Google app reverted to white today, after being on dark mode for months. Coincidence?
