New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 07, 2020) follows:

OnePlus released OxygenOS 10 Open Beta 12 update to the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro in mid-April, but the rollout was quickly halted after it emerged that the firmware was plagued by a device unlock bug.

So dreaded was the bug that OnePlus postponed the Open Beta 12 update. The company also suggested that it would take longer to fix the device unlock bug. Going by the look of things, though, it seems the OEM has finally addressed this issue.

A new OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro Open Beta 13 update is now up for grabs. OnePlus doesn’t mention anything regarding fixing the device unlock bug in the release notes. But the fact that the new firmware is rolling out speaks for itself.

The changes are all the same. The same April 2020 security patch keeps its place, but there is now a recording icon in the call screen, details of the ringing duration for missed calls, and users can now switch mobile data on VoLTE calls.

The camera has also picked up a feature that detects dirt on the lens and prompts the user to clean up for better quality shots. But since both OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro Open Beta 13 updates are rolling out over the air, it will take some time before everyone in the beta channel gets these features.

Of course, these same features should also find their way to the stable OxygenOS channel sooner or later, probably with the next stable release. We will let you guys know about it when it arrives.

Update

OnePlus 7T and 7T Pro are also receiving a new Open Beta 3 update as we speak. Besides the April security patch, the update also has the following on board:

System
• Optimized the volume adjustment to improve user experience

• Fixed known issues and improved system stability

Phone
• Added the ringing duration info for missed calls
• Now you can switch your mobile data on phone calls supported with VoLTE

Camera
• Added a feature which can now detect dirt on the camera lens, prompting a quick cleanup for better image and video quality

Tech has been my playground for over a decade. While the Android journey began early, it truly took flight with the revolutionary Lollipop update. Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem. Expect insightful articles and explorations of the ever-evolving world of Android and Google products coupled with occasional rants on the Nest smart home ecosystem.
