eggNotch: a new Jailbreak tweak to hide device notch

The jailbreak community is rather active in recent times. This has probably been occasioned by the fact that Apple’s iOS is a little mean when it comes to customizations.

Driven by the need for more customization, more and more iOS users are turning to jailbreak their devices and installing custom tweaks in a bid to get a little more functionality or change the look and feel of their iPhones.

We have covered countless jailbreak tweaks in the past and you can check out our dedicated coverage on the same here. Today, we look at yet another jailbreak tweak for iOS.

Today, the new iPhones have some of the biggest notches in the mobile industry. Granted, it is there for a reason, to house the important sensors that enable FaceID. iOS offers a built-in way to hide the notch but that just blacks out the section on either side of the notch.

eggNotch hopes to make that a little better. With this tweak, users can change the look and feel of the notch-hiding to their liking. eggNotch allows users to change the color of the ‘ears’ to any shade they want.

In this initial release, the developer has added a preferences section to this tweak. Also added are some very useful features such as disabling persistence on the status bar in the preferences menu.

eggNotch is a free tweak to download and use and is available on Cydia and BigBoss. The link to download this tweak is here.
